Summary:

Environmental education is a strategy implemented with the purpose of generating people aware of the biophysical space and its problems. There is evidence of positive effects in the increase of conducts in favor of nature, from environmental education activities developed in natural environments. In Peru there are institutions with environmental education programs that seek to link people with natural spaces; However, there are few reports evaluating the impact of these activities, especially in human communities living in marine-coastal zones. Due to this, the Punta San Juan Program (PPSJ) implemented a project of guided educational visits to the Punta San Juan Reserve (RPSJ) with the purpose of involving the residents of the Marcona district with their natural environment. The objective of the study is to determine the impact of the guided educational visits to RPSJ on the knowledge and attitudes of the inhabitants of Marcona towards nature. For this, the data collected by the PPSJ in the Pre and Post tests applied to the participants of the guided educational visits will be evaluated in order to evaluate the change in the state of knowledge. Additionally, a survey will be applied to the participants of the guided visits, in order to reassess knowledge, and determine attitudes towards nature. The results of this study may indicate the importance of conducting environmental education programs in protected natural areas. Pretending to be a source of information for the preparation of future activities that seek to link human communities in natural spaces.
